Wish Park Surgery

Appointment Data

We know that it can be hard to get in touch with the surgery and often it can be hard to see who you want to. Whilst we appreciate this is frustrating, we are doing our best to help. In order for you to appreciate what we do, we felt we would share the following.

In October we provided enough appointments to see 35% of our patient list. The majority of those appointments were with a GP, the rest with members of the nursing or pharmacy teams. In total, we provided 2608  appointments

In September we provided 2929 appointments altogether, that’s enough for 40% of our patients to see someone. Again, the majority of these were with a GP.

Most of these meant you came into the surgery, but some were carried out on the telephone. Where we need to see you face to face we will, but often thats not needed and a telephone call or video chat can be more efficient.

Disappointingly, over the 2 months 238 people didnt show for their meeting. That’s over 4% of appointments lost. We realise that things can happen to make you miss an appointment, but please try to tell us in advance, so we can use the time for someone else.

As well as seeing patients, we issue on average 180 prescription items each day and process around 100 to 150 letters from patients or other parts of the healthcare system.

In summary, we are all working hard to help you and continue to look at recruiting more staff and/or work in more efficient ways.

Hopefully this information is useful and provides and understanding of the workload we currently complete and some idea as to why it can be a challenge to get to see someone as quickly as you may like.

Thank you for your support
