Coronavirus Covid19 Update 25th February 2020

Updated advice for travellers from Wuhan and Hubei Province and other specified areas has been issued by the government

Anyone who has travelled from:
• Iran
• Specific lockdown areas in Northern Italy as designated by the Government of Italy
• The Italian towns under isolation are:
10 in Lombardy (Codogno, Castiglione d’Adda, Casalpusterlengo, Fombio, Maleo, Somaglia, Bertonico,
Terranova dei Passerini, Castelgerundo and San Fiorano)
1 in Veneto (Vo’ Euganeo).

• Special care zones in South Korea as designated by the Government of the Republic of South Korea
• Hubei province (returned in the past 14 days)
• Full details of Specified countries and areas with implications for returning travellers or visitors arriving in the UK available here.

Should immediately:
• stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu
• call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the area

People should follow this advice even if you do not have symptoms of the virus.

Travellers from other parts of China and other specified areas
This advice applies to travellers who have returned to the UK from the following areas:
• China
• Thailand
• Japan
• Republic of Korea
• Hong Kong
• Taiwan
• Singapore
• Malaysia
• Macau

If you have returned to the UK from any of these areas in the last 14 days and develop symptoms of cough or fever or shortness of breath, you should immediately:
• stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu
• call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the country

Please follow this advice even if your symptoms are minor.

If you have returned from these areas since February 19 and develop symptoms please follow this advice. You do not need to follow this advice if you have no symptoms.
• Northern Italy (defined by a line above, and not including, Pisa, Florence and Rimini),
• Vietnam
• Cambodia
• Laos
• Myanmar

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has advised UK nationals to leave China where possible. If the situation continues to escalate the pressure on the Chinese health system may intensify, and it may also become harder for people to travel.
This change does not affect our advice for those returning from Wuhan or mainland China.
