Wish Park Surgery

Improved Access to GP Services

We know it can be difficult to get an appointment at the surgery. Part of the reason for this is that many face-to-face appointments are used for problems that could be better dealt with over the telephone.

Similarly, patients who just want to discuss something over the telephone have to queue up for a face to face appointment because they have difficulty getting a telephone consultation.
In response to this, we are introducing a new telephone service to help you get the appointment you need.

From 5th November 2018, this surgery will be offering new telephone consultations, Monday to Friday. When you call the surgery, if you are offered the new service, your details will be taken and a GP not based at the practice will call you back within a few hours. This GP has full access to your records and our administration services and can organise whatever is needed just as your usual GP does.

If you need to be seen by a GP, the GP you speak to will book you a face-face appointment with a GP at the surgery later that same day.

Children under 2 and patients with visual conditions such as rashes will be directly booked into a face-to-face appointment, unless you specifically request a telephone call.

Thank you for your patience at this time of change, and we hope you find new the new service beneficial.
