The government has today announced that when lockdown ends at midnight next Wednesday 2 December, Brighton & Hove will be in Tier 2 along with the rest of Sussex.
The latest figures show that that cases of Covid 19 have reduced in the past week in all age groups. The case rate among people over 60 years old has fallen which is encouraging, but the level of infection in older people still remains a concern. I want to thank everyone who has helped reduce the rate of transmission in the city during lockdown. But I continue to ask that we all keep this up when lockdown ends and we go into Tier 2 next Wednesday.
If you experience any Covid related symptoms – even if very mild – self-isolate immediately along with your household and apply for a test.
It is really important that we don’t relax our efforts now.
